  I booked a car for three days and was quoted $404 total. On returning the car I was running late and didn't fill with petrol. I expected they would charge me for a full tank but instead charged my card an extra $286 just to fill 3/4 of a tank. I rang them and was advised they charge $5 per litre PLUS charges. They made no effort to tell me when I rented that if I didn't refill it would be $5 litre ++. What a scam! They can keep my Avis Preferred , I'll book elsewhere from now on.

  Avis never responds to complaints either or their email bounces back. Very reluctant to return to Avis

  Car has that much damage that even the hotel concierge commented and asked if I had noted the damages. They gave me that particular car because it had inbuilt GPS. Not a good look when here on business.

  The staff were not friendly to deal with either. Very cold service. Dissapointed considering I use them several times a year.

  Following returning the car and flying home, Avis found a expensive bottle of wine we had accidentially left behind in the car which we had assumed was lost and gone. However Avis found it, contacted us and posted it to us in Sydney. This is the type of service you hope to recieve from companies but rarely do.

  Great experience with Avis at Adelaide airport. To start with they gave us a better rate and a better car then their competitors.

  EXCELLENT service from MARY. Had a flight cancellation and Mary could not have been more helpful in arranging a vehicle for me so I could get home on time. Friendly and efficient service with great follow up.
